Every September, the award-winning Supercrawl festival brings a mix of the city’s finest music, art, fashion, performance, food and culture to the streets of downtown Hamilton. Today, Supercrawl organizers offered audiences beyond the city’s borders a sample of that programming when they previewed the festival’s 2017 music lineup as the closing event of the two-day Hamilton Consulate outreach initiative at The Burroughes in Toronto.

Supercrawl’s Festival Director Tim Potocic previewed the coming festival season for those in attendance and screened the launch video for the event’s ninth annual season. The lineup and video rolled out simultaneously worldwide through the festival’s website and social media channels. Supercrawl’s music preview is the first of a dozen festival announcements — spanning art, music, performance, food, vendors, fashion, film, talks, family programming and more — that the event will make between now and August.

“We’ve never been more excited about a season of Supercrawl,” said Potocic, “and we’re only getting started. We’re dedicated to putting on a great event every year, and that’s only possible because we bring together the best of our city’s creative community and cultural sector and tap into their passion and collaborative energy. Hamilton artists and performers can hold their own with the best of them. That’s something we think is worth celebrating.”

Supercrawl is a free, three-day outdoor music and arts festival that showcases the cultures, businesses and creative people in Hamilton’s downtown core. It is both an acclaimed tourist event with national profile and a celebration of the creative vitality of the Hamilton area. The majority of Supercrawl’s artists and performers are Hamilton-based. On an annual and ongoing basis, Supercrawl provides opportunities to local artists and performers, showcasing them alongside their regional, national and international peers.
